  1. Yes, it’s true. Although the boost isn’t enormous, the benefits of adopting this habit are more than just higher metabolism. You also balance your blood sugar, which gives you sustained energy and endurance. It also controls hunger which helps you keep in control of your food choices.

    The most important thing to remember is to always have a source of protein with every meal. So like a slice of cheese and an apple. Or a handful of walnuts and an orange. Or a small salad but with a little skinless chicken thrown in. Protein is key.

  2. Let me make it simple for you and tell you the advice Michael Pollan, the author of Omnivores Dilemma and In Defense of Food, gives:

    “Eat food, not too much, mostly plants”

    Control your caloric intake to 500 or so below your AMR, Learn proper portion sizes for Meats, Dairy, Grain and Cheeses and fats. Eat mostly plant based foods at every meal, at least half the volume should be vegetables. Eat at least 1 portion of protein at every meal to make you feel satiated longer. Some people like to snack and/or eat mini meals through out the day. They do this to keep their blood sugar level through out the day, but if you don’t have blood sugar problem and you can’t go with the several small snacks/mini meals then it’s ok to eat larger meals less often. This method mostly those who feel hungry on traditional diets.

    And one last piece of advice. Stop eating as much processed foods as you can. This means most pizza, hamburgers, ice cream, fried foods, etc. This doesn’t mean you can never have these things, just means you should make the best choice possible by opting for whole grain when you can and limit your portions of these foods. They are once in a while foods, not daily staples.

  5. bake potatoes, broccoli, cabbage, oranges, tomatoes. onions grapefruit. and i do believe other green vegetables as well all of these listed will burn more calories then they can give, they are also known as fat burners. They burn more because they are you complex carbohydrate which recycle them selves such as the B complex vitamin. which give you longer lasting energy. They also detoxifies, drink the water with them and you will see. parsley, blueberries. melon, garlic, and mango’s oatmeal not instant are also good not coffee cafine is not good

    are there any foods that can give me an extra boost when it comes to burning fat and raising my Metabolism?
    i was 60 pounds overweight.
    ive been dieting and exercising since Sep. 7.
    ive lost 38 pounds and i wanna lose the last 22 before my birthday (Nov. 11)

    P.S. My exercising routine is good enough because i exercise 50 minutes (5 minutes are spent lifting weights, doing pushups and situps, the other 45 mins are spent jogging) and besides that, i walk home from school and it usually takes me an hour because my school is like 2.6 miles away
